3 Step Plan for Noise
Step 1 Vibration Dampers/Thermal Insulators Commonly referred to as “sound deadening”, vibration damping is the foundation of any aftermarket acoustical modification project. Vibrations and structure borne sound can account for as much as 60% of the total reducible ambient noise in a vehicle. Because structure borne vibrations play such a large roll in automotive noise, the vibrations are the most important problem to address. This is the foundation of any sound deadening project and can not be skipped. If you are only going to use one product for your project, it should be one of these! Second Skin Vibration Dampers/Thermal Insulators work in four ways:

Noise, Heat & Vibration Coatings Spectrum, Sludge and Firewall We offer 3 waterborne noise & heat coatings that can be sprayed or brushed on. When applied in equal thicknesses as traditional noise & heat barriers, our Spectrum™ products can yield over twice the damping and insulation results at far less weight.
Noise, Heat & Vibration Mats Damplifier™ and Damplifier Pro™Second Skin Damplifier™ mats are the single most effective noise and heat insulation product available. We offer two peel and stick mats, both backed with a thick yet flexible foil layer for the ultimate noise and heat insulation properties.
Step 2 Vibration Dampers/Thermal Insulators After treating the structure borne noise with a vibration damper, the next step is to attack the remaining 40 of airborne sound waves and target the specific frequencies associated with road, engine, exhaust and wind noise. As these difficult sound waves penetrate the vibration dampers they are forced to travel through this second layer. As they do, this second layer dissipates and diminishes the noise, allowing for an even more comfortable and quiet environment. Second Skin Vibration Dampers/Thermal Insulators work in four ways:
Closed Cell Noise Filters Overkill™ and Overkill Pro™ Second Skin Noise Filters are light weight, flexible and highly resistant to heat and automotive chemicals. Not only do they filter out penetrating airborne noise, and in some cases can also be used to reduce rattles and squeaks from upholstery
Step 3 Acoustic Barriers & Composites After applying one of our Overkill™ Closed Cell Noise Filters to your vibration damper it is time to attack the remaining 20% of total reducible noise with the addition of an acoustical barrier, composite or isolating mat. Adding one of these products to specific problem areas of the car will kill the most difficult ambient noise to reduce. We offer three unique products to handle different acoustical problems.

Noise & Heat Barrier Composites Rattle Pad, Luxury Liner, Motor Mat & Heatwave Whether you are trying to fine tune your car audio project by killing the last of the rattles and squeaks or making your hot rod quiet as a brand new luxury car, One of these product will help you achieve your goals, whatever they are
