The service from Sales was extensive to ensure we got the right product. For us it was important that the product have a proper Earthen coloration and appear natural, and their product - after extensive comparisons with others - fit perfectly. The Timberwool tiles were easy to handle, and all arrived in perfect condition. Cutting them to suit the application was easy with regular wood cutting tools and the effect on the space visually and audibly is starling - the sound is reduced by an immense factor.
We installed Ecoverb panels on our ceiling between the beams to fill the empty cavities and provide much-needed sound absorption to the space. The result is really amazing! Especially during our recordings, you can really tell the difference listening to recordings before and after the panels were installed. The team at Second Skin was great to work with, and I couldn't recommend them enough. Thank you, Erik and Sturgeon!
We restore Jeeps. The vehicles are naturally prone to vibrations and road noise. With the added high performance exhaust systems, it was impossible to achieve acceptable sound quality from stereo systems. We ordered Damplifier Pro, received it in 2 days, applied it in a half hour and the results were amazing. We have since added a layer of Luxury Liner Pro. There are high performance off-road vehicles with the comfort and sound insulation superior to the average vehicle on the highway. For the price and quality, we have not found a comparable product.
First off if you have any questions about Second Skin products, just call them. They are all extremely helpful. Definitely a customer service focused company.
The Luxury Liner PRO MLV + Foam Auto Sound Barrier Sheets are a literal sound wall and I put it over my firewall in my rear engine VW Vanagon. This 40 year old vehicle with a combination of their Damplifier Pads and Spectrum premium and MLV is as quiet as a modern vehicle now and im blown away.
The MLV is really easy to cut with scissors or a razor blade to form to odd shapes. I was really skeptical, but just due to no first hand experience. It was 100% worth the purchase.
