FAQs
What makes the acoustics in a church good?
What makes the acoustics in a church good?
Good church acoustics come from the correct reverberation time set by the surfaces of the building, the positioning of speakers, the absorptive materials, and room shape. Hard surfaces like stone and high ceilings create the rich, lingering sound that makes choirs and organs shine, but can lead to difficulty understanding spoken word. The goal is to get a good crisp sound that does not cause music or speech sound to overlap, distorting clarity. Reach out to us for a plan for your church!

What are the most popular acoustic panels for churches?
We've seen a mixed bag, but Acoustic Pro Fabric Wrapped Panels, PolyZorbe, and Timberwool all take the top of the list. You'll be considering a mix of budget and aesthetics to decide what makes the most sense for you.
How do you soundproof a nursery or kids area?
How do you soundproof a nursery or kids area?
If there are shared spaces where kids are running around, you'll need to soundproof between them. For place to look is the doors. If you have a solid core door on there, install a Sound Lock Door Seal Kit to lock that noise inside. If that isn't enough, you may need to consider soundproofing the walls with mass loaded vinyl. For sound coming through the floor above from dancing kid feet, you need to either isolate the ceiling from the joists with RSIC-1 sound isolation clips or put UnderBlock Rubber Underlayment under the finished floor above.
If you have a nursery that overlooks the sanctuary, no problem! To keep that crying sounds out, you'll want a Tru Acoustics Soundproof Window to control that sound while creating a private space for parents and kids. Our soundproof windows can be made with one-way glass to help protect nursing mom's privacy without compromising their ability to watch.
