PolyZorbe™ Polyester Acoustic Panels
PolyZorbe absorbs echo and reverb in spaces where voice clarity matters. These polyester panels reduce reverberation time in conference rooms, podcast studios, classrooms, and open offices by converting sound energy into minimal heat within the fiber structure. The 2-inch thickness has an NRC rating of 0.95.
The panels install on walls or ceilings using adhesive or mechanical fasteners. Made from 60% recycled polyester without formaldehyde or chemical irritants, PolyZorbe has a Class A fire rating and supports LEED V4.1 credits for green building projects.

Material Testing
Material Testing
The table below shows absorption coefficients across the frequency spectrum for each panel thickness, tested per ASTM C423 standards using A-mount (wall-mount) configuration. NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) represents the average absorption across the four main speech frequencies (250Hz, 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz).
Noise Reduction Coefficient
| Thickness | 125 Hz | 250 Hz | 500 Hz | 1000 Hz | 2000 Hz | 4000 Hz | NRC |

Common Product Uses
Common Product Uses
| Application | How it Works |
| Corporate Offices & Conference Rooms | Hard surfaces in open offices and conference rooms create excessive reverberation that masks speech, so PolyZorbe panels (1" for standard offices, 2" for larger spaces) absorb mid/high-frequency reflections to restore speech clarity. |
| Recording Studios & Podcast Production | Reflected sound causes comb filtering and a hollow "roomy" quality in recordings, so 2" PolyZorbe panels (NRC 0.95) placed at first reflection points and recording areas absorb the 500Hz-4000Hz range critical to vocal presence and clarity. |
| Educational Spaces & Classrooms | Reverberation above 0.6 seconds reduces speech intelligibility and learning outcomes in hard-surfaced classrooms, so PolyZorbe coverage calculated from room volume and target RT60 controls echo while meeting school indoor air quality and safety standards. |
| Restaurants, Bars & Hospitality | Peak-service noise above 80 dBA pushes guests to raise their voices and compounds ambient noise, so lightweight, custom-printable PolyZorbe panels absorb that buildup while blending into the hospitality aesthetic. |
| Houses of Worship & Theaters | These spaces need enough reverberation to support music and singing but enough control for sermon and dialogue clarity, so zone-specific PolyZorbe placement absorbs speech-blurring reflections where needed while leaving music areas more reflective. |
| Medical Clinics & Healthcare Facilities | Exam rooms and consultation areas require speech privacy under HIPAA without costly isolation construction, so PolyZorbe absorption limits how far conversations carry, in a non-allergenic, fungal-resistant material suited to clinical environments. |
Installation Instructions
Installation Instructions
You can install PolyZorbe using three methods depending on substrate type and project requirements. Complete step-by-step installation guides for each method are available in the Product Files & Spec Sheets section below.
Installation Method 1: X60 Spray Adhesive (Recommended for Drywall, Metal, Wood, or Concrete)
- Mark horizontal and vertical reference lines on the mounting surface using a level
- Apply X60 spray adhesive with 80% to 100% coverage to both the panel back and mounting surface, leaving a small gap around edges to avoid overspray
- Allow 2 to 4 minutes for adhesive to tack up
- Align panel edges to reference lines and press firmly across entire surface
- Initial bond allows trimming and cutting; maximum adhesive strength develops in 1 to 3 days
Spray at temperatures above 60°F. Do not store adhesive above 120°F.
Installation Method 2: Construction Adhesive Plus Spray Adhesive (For Painted or Concrete Substrates)
- Mark reference lines using level
- Cut construction adhesive nozzle to produce 1/4-inch bead
- Apply construction adhesive in X-pattern plus perimeter, leaving 3/4-inch from edges
- Apply spray adhesive (3M Super 77 or equivalent) inside the four quadrants created by X-pattern - do not overspray onto construction adhesive lines
- Wait 4 minutes for spray adhesive to set
- Align panel to reference lines and apply medium pressure on edges, then even pressure across remaining area
The spray adhesive holds panels instantly while permanent construction adhesive cures.
Installation Method 3: Direct Mechanical Attachment
- Mark reference lines
- Align panel and drill pilot holes through panel into substrate
- Install screws or appropriate fasteners for mounting surface, placing fasteners minimum 0.75 inches from panel edges
- Optional: use washers with pan-head screws for finished appearance
Painting walls or ceilings black at the perimeter helps conceal expansion joints at panel edges.
Tools Required: Level, 48-inch drywall T-square, appropriate adhesive or mechanical fasteners, table saw with PolyZorbe blade or band saw with plastic blade or sharp utility knife for cutting.
Estimated Installation Time: 15 to 20 minutes per panel for adhesive methods after surface preparation. 10 to 15 minutes per panel for mechanical attachment.
You should handle panels carefully during installation to avoid damage to faces or edges. Do not twist or bow the panels and store them in dry, controlled environment.
