Acoustic Ceiling FAQs
How do acoustic ceilings work?
How do acoustic ceilings work?
By adding acoustical material to the ceiling, you are strategically adding absorption into the room in a way that keeps it up out of the way, and depending on the ceiling treatment style you choose, you can be covering or replacing a hard or otherwise non-absorptive surface with a highly absorptive material.
How thick should ceiling acoustic panels be?
How thick should ceiling acoustic panels be?
Generally, most acoustic ceiling panels (clouds and baffles, too) will be 1" - 2" thick. The thicker the material, the better it performs, particularly at the lower-end frequencies. If you are wanting more absorption at lower frequencies, a slight airspace will improve the performance level of your installed materials.
