FAQs

We can say without a doubt that it's worth it because sound deadening a car works! By deadening vibrations with quality-tested sound deadeners like Damplifier Pro and Spectrum, you will reduce structural noise generated by your car. We always recommend combining one of our deadners with an insulation/sound blocking product like Luxury Liner Pro to maximize performance. Together, we find you can easily reduce 10+ dB every time, which is good for about a 50%+ noise reduction. Quieter ride? Check!

The simple answer is to put it anywhere you have significant vibrational noise. Here are the most common parts of the car that need vibration dampening the most:

  • Doors: Apply sound deadening to the outer door skins to make the doors solid and quiet.
  • Wheel Wells: Sound deaden the wheel wells to cut down on the road noise that you hear coming straight up from the wheels.
  • Floor: Apply at least 60% coverage of sound deadening to the floor to reduce the structural noise of the largest part of your car.
  • Firewall: When applying to the car floor, take sound deadening up the firewall as well to reduce engine noise.
  • Trunk: If you have a sub in the trunk, this CANNOT be skipped. It also helps with rear tire noise.
  • Roof: Much like the trunk, if you have a sub, you need to prevent roof flex with sound deadening.
