This project was a few years in the making. Scott covered the entire boat doghouse with Damplifier Pro and then applied the Heat Wave Pro on top with foil tape on the seams and edges. This reduce his noise transfer into the boat area by a a good 8 dB, keeping him quiet and cool while driving around the lakes.

Adam covered the engine door with the Second Skin Dampener, then the Heat Wave Pro, then put the original foam back in (cause why not). Everywhere else inside the engine bay he used the Damplifier Pro. Adam also covered the fuel compartment door with the Damplifier Pro which was 9 sqft. It's much quieter than before at idle/sunset cruise speeds making it easier to talk. And quieter when accelerating and at plane speeds. So all around it was worth the investment. Adam really liked that Second Skin is a reputable commercial brand, is rated to hold up to high temps, made in America, will act as a fire retardant, AND the great customer service. dB changes below.

1988 Tiara 3300

Steve, all the way up in Canada used our premium boat engine cover insualtion kit to get his 1988 Tiara sounding quiet again after years of the factory insulation falling off.

1988 Tiara 3300 Boat Insulation

Time to get this boat nice and quiet!

Boat engine insulation repair

When you open up the hatch and see this...it's time for some new stuff!

Boat Cover Insulation

Factory heat shield and noise insulation is failing and falling off. Time for an upgrade.

Boat Engine Cover Repair

1st step, get the old stuff off and clean the surface well with denatured alcohol.

Sound Deadening Boat Engine Cover

1st layer of Second Skin to go on the cover is the Damplifier Pro, to kill vibration noise and stop heat transfer.

Soundproofing boat engine covers

2nd layer of the Boat Engine Cover Kit, Mega Block. To absorb the airborne noise and also to thermally insualte the engine cover. No more sound and heat coming up through here with the Second Skin treatment.

Boat Engine Compartment Insulation Kit . . . because we heard you loud and clear.

Your boat deserves the same love as these projects above. This kit has everything you'll need to quiet that engine so you can stop screaming, "I can't hear you." The reply is always inevitably, "What?" anyway. Skip the theatrics and treat you boat right. When you pull up to the dock and everyone notices just how quiet your boat is, you can relish in how simple it was to do and how good you looked doing it.

  • Boat Doghouse Kit: Damplifier Pro stops vibrational noise from the fiberglass housing. Heat Wave Pro brings the insulation and sound absorption to the table. This kit was designed for anyone with a doghouse engine compartment on their boat that is looking for some noticeable noise reduction.
