Sydnee's 2013 Sonata

Sydnee is the beautiful partner of long-time Team Second Skin installer Jeffrey H. After hearing the amazing sound improvements inside of Jeffrey's car, she knew she needed a Second Skin treatment for her ride. We had the pleasure of meeting both Jeffrey & Sydnee in person when they drove up to the Tucson warehouse in 2018. I'm pretty sure they mainly wanted to play with the Second Skin doggies (Sadie and Oliver) lol... After a good chat on a cool Arizona Friday, Sydnee scooped up a huge load of the best sound and heat materials for her build.

You take this picture when you love Second Skin so much, you drive up from Texas on Black Friday weekend to scoop up the butyl goodies. Sydnee scored enough Second Skin to sound deaden the entire Sonata. It was so much it barely fit inside of the car for the ride home! Thank you guys for insisting on Second Skin!!

Next up, time to add sound deadener to the rear deck on top and bottom. Sydnee also used Luxury Liner Pro to the trunk wheel wells and floor.

Next up is the floor. She's got the Sonata fully disassembled fully and is throwing down that Damplifier Pro sound deadener

The 2013 Sonata doors took about 6 sq ft each on the outer and inner skins.

Pro Tip from Jeffrey H: When installing door speakers use Damplifier Butyl Tape to keep wires from slapping around. Also use it on the back side of the speaker mount to ensure your mount is solid and won't vibrate.

2013 Hyundai Sonata Door Panel Soundproofing

When you are wanting to max out your results, you got to hit up those flimsy door panels too. Sydnee reinforced her Sonata's door panels with Damplifier Pro and later with OverKill closed cell foam.

Back to factory look from the outside. The sound deadening secrets hidden beneath the panel.

Inside, outside, and upside down...Damplifier Pro is the one trusted to bond for life. Great work on your roof Sydnee!!

Fitting together like puzzle pieces. Time to add some extra insulation to the roof with Mega Zorbe

After all of that work sound deadening the roof, Sydnee's Sonata goes right back together. Amazing work Sydnee!!!

Hyunjun's 2019 ioniq hybrid

Even when you go EV/Hybrid you still have to tame some noises. "This is a game changer in my 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. Hybrid car users know how annoying engine sound comes into the cabin when a car is not in EV mode. Wildly, Ioniq Hybrid howls after the start, which means the car starts with high engine RPM to make a better start. I applied Damplifier Pro onto the hood, firewall, and roof. I witnessed my car get deaden vibrations and stop structural noise. I could get back to enjoying the ride. I felt like my car is a luxury sedan. I will apply more of this to other sections in my car.
