How do you eliminate ductwork noise in HVAC?
How do you eliminate ductwork noise in HVAC?
To reduce ductwork noise, there are a few approaches.
- Acoustic Duct Liner -Â Line the inside of the duct with a quality acoustic duct liner like EcoVerb Rollâ„¢ to control reflected sound from traveling through your ducts.
- Ductwork Turns -Â For every true 90 degree turn, you can reduce about 6 decibels of noise up to three times, which is good for about 35% quieter per turn.
- Baffle Box -Â The same 90 degree principle is used when building baffle boxes. With full 90 degree turns, air can still travel through without easily yielding to sound. Line the walls and partitions of the baffle box with EcoVerb Acoustic Duct liner and keep sound from reflecting inside the box.
