How is Luxury Liner Sheet different from Luxury Liner Pro?

Luxury Liner Sheet is plain mass loaded vinyl. You add your own foam decoupler underneath. Luxury Liner Pro has the foam fused to the MLV in one 3/8" sheet, with built-in decoupling and heat insulation. Choose the Sheet when you want to pick the density (1 lb or 2 lb) and the foam separately.

How is Luxury Liner Sheet different from the Luxury Liner rolls?

Luxury Liner Sheets are pre-cut from the Luxury Liner Rolls to handle smaller jobs. The rolls are made for larger jobs like soundproofing walls, fences, and ducts.

How do I install Luxury Liner Sheet?

To install Luxury Liner Sheets, cut the sheet to size, install a closed cell foam decoupler, and then lay your MLV sheet on top. You can use HH-66 to adhere the Luxury Liner Sheet to the decoupler. Seal the seams with foil insulation tape. For best results, install Damplifier Pro or Spectrum to the bare metal to reduce the structural noise and then lay down your decoupler and MLV.

How do I cut Luxury Liner Sheet?

Cut Luxury Liner Sheet with a sharp utility knife, upholstery scissors, or an electric carving knife. Leave enough clearance to reinstall carpet and trim. Don't cover wires, drain holes, or mechanical devices.

Is Luxury Liner Sheet fire resistant?

Yes, Luxury Liner Sheet is fire resistant and passes FMVSS 302. It is rated for temperatures up to 175°F.

What is Luxury Liner Sheet made of?

Installation Instructions

Automotive

Recommended Install Adhesive: HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement or Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fasteners (spray adhesive will not work on vinyl)

Install Locations: Cabin side firewall, car floor, trunk, on top of wheel wells, and back wall

For best results, apply on top of a sound deadener (Damplifier Pro™ or Spectrum™) first to deaden the metal and stop structural noise.
Install a soft decoupling material between Luxury Liner™ and the floor — OverKill Pro™ or Heat Wave Pro™. Or use Luxury Liner Pro™, which has the decoupler pre-attached.
Remove upholstery or carpet. Ensure no loose debris, rust, dirt, or waxy oils.
Cut to size with a sharp utility knife or scissors. Do not cover wires, drain holes, or mechanical devices.
Use HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement to adhere Luxury Liner™ to the decoupler. Apply one coat to each surface.
Apply adhesive to the decoupler and the foil side of your Damplifier Pro™. Apply constant pressure over the entire surface for several minutes.
Seal any exposed edges or seams with Foil Insulation Tape to create an unbroken noise barrier.
Factory carpet can be replaced immediately. Aftermarket carpet kits can be attached directly to Luxury Liner™.

Home & Commercial

Recommended Install Method: staples, screws, nails, or hung with reinforced grommets

Install Locations: Soundproof boxes, generator enclosures, PVC pipe wrap, HVAC ducts, soundproof doors, mechanical rooms, machinery enclosures

Cut with a sharp utility knife or upholstery scissors. Use a T-square for straight cuts.
The key to an effective installation is to make your noise barrier airtight. Use foil tape across seams and seal edges with foil tape or acoustical sealant caulk.
If installing using adhesive, you must use one designed for vinyl, like HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement.
We recommend full MLV rolls for larger wall soundproofing projects.

Luxury Liner Sheet rates STC 26 at 1 lb and STC 32 at 2 lb:

Frequency	1 lb	2 lb
125 Hz	14	19
250 Hz	19	20
500 Hz	22	27
1000 Hz	27	34
2000 Hz	32	38
4000 Hz	37	43
STC	26	32

Choose 2 lb Luxury Liner Sheet for the most sound blocking. It has an STC 32 versus STC 26 for the 1 lb sheet, with the biggest gains at the mid and high frequencies. The 1 lb sheet is thinner (1/8") and more flexible for tighter turns.

Luxury Liner Sheet goes on the vehicle floor, including under the rear seats. It also goes in the trunk (floor, quarter panels, and wheel wells) and on the cabin side of the firewall. Use it anywhere road, engine, exhaust, or tire noise needs to be blocked from entering the cabin. We recommend pairing it with a closed cell foam decoupler like OverKill or OverKill Pro.

For the best results, install Luxury Liner Sheet on top of a constraint layer damper like Damplifier or Damplifier Pro. Pair it with OverKill or OverKill Pro closed cell foam underneath. The foam decouples the MLV barrier from bare metal or hard plastic.

Each Luxury Liner Sheet is 24" x 54" (9 sq ft), and you're aiming for as close to 100% coverage as you can. You can measure your approximate square footage or use our vehicle square footage calculator just above.
