Luxury Linerâ„¢ MLV Sheet (1 lb / 2 lb)
Second Skin Luxury Linerâ„¢ automotive mass loaded vinyl is designed to block even the most stubborn airborne sound waves and road noises. The PVC vinyl is compounded with inert materials to build mass, and create an easy-to-install wall between you and whatever's creating the noise. Once you see what it can do, Luxury Linerâ„¢ will be your new favorite noise reduction tool. It's tough, so you can use it outside. It's super flexible, so you can bend it around curves. And it's dense, so it BLOCKS NOISE!
Features
Choose between the standard 1 lb per square foot sheet and the extra brawny 2 lb per square foot sheet. All sheets are black and made right here in the USA. This is not a cheap, recycled MLV. It's intentionally crafted to be flexible and pliable, with over 3x the tensile strength of lower quality products (600+ psi). Luxury Linerâ„¢ is odorless and fire resistant, passing vehicle fire safety testing standards (FMVSS). This beefy noise barrier is just waiting to come dominate unwanted noise in your home, vehicle, or commercial building.

Installation Instructions
Home & Commercial
Recommended Install Method: staples, screws, nails, or hung with reinforced grommets
Install Locations: Room soundproofing, walls, soundproof boxes, generator enclosures, sound blocking fence, PVC pipe wrap, HVAC ducts, soundproof doors, mechanical rooms, machinery enclosures, office partition walls
- Cut with a sharp utility knife or upholstery scissors. Use a T-square for straight cuts.
- The key to an effective installation is to make your noise barrier airtight. Use foil tape across seams and seal edges with foil tape or acoustical sealant caulk.
- If installing using adhesive, you must use one designed for vinyl, like HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement.
- We recommend full MLV rolls for larger wall soundproofing projects.
Automotive
Recommended Install Adhesive: HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement or Dual Lockâ„¢ Reclosable Fasteners (spray adhesive will not work on vinyl)
Install Locations: Cabin side firewall, car floor, trunk, on top of wheel wells, and back wall
- For best results, apply on top of a sound deadener (Damplifier Proâ„¢ or Spectrumâ„¢) first to deaden the metal and stop structural noise.
- Install a soft decoupling material between Luxury Liner™ and the floor — OverKill Pro™ or Heat Wave Pro™. Or use Luxury Liner Pro™, which has the decoupler pre-attached.
- Remove upholstery or carpet. Ensure no loose debris, rust, dirt, or waxy oils.
- Cut to size with a sharp utility knife or scissors. Do not cover wires, drain holes, or mechanical devices.
- Use HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement to adhere Luxury Linerâ„¢ to the decoupler. Apply one coat to each surface.
- Apply adhesive to the decoupler and the foil side of your Damplifier Proâ„¢. Apply constant pressure over the entire surface for several minutes.
- Seal any exposed edges or seams with Foil Insulation Tape to create an unbroken noise barrier.
- Factory carpet can be replaced immediately. Aftermarket carpet kits can be attached directly to Luxury Linerâ„¢.
