It depends on what you're doing. Open cell foam like Mega Zorbe is built to absorb sound to improve vehicle acoustics and get the most out of your aftermarket speakers. Its porous structure absorbs airborne noise and mid-to-high frequency echo, making it a great pick for inside door cavities, headliners, and behind cabin panels. Closed cell foam like OverKill Pro works as a decoupler between two hard surfaces, like plastic trim and sheet metal, to reduce rattling. This is particularly important when you install a sub in your trunk. The low frequencies from your sub will cause those hard surfaces to rattle, disrupting the quality of the music.

We treat our car sound insulation to be hydrophobic so you don't have to worry about moisture, mold, or mildew building up. There is a very real possibility that moisture gets trapped behind the door panel or in the headliner. That's why our Mega Zorbe and Mega Zorbe Pro go through a hydrophobic treatment that penetrates the entire sheet, and 3M Thinsulate insulation uses hydrophobic fibers. Never install foam that isn't rated water resistant in a door panel or anywhere else moisture can reach.

Mega Zorbe and Mega Zorbe Pro are the same material, just at different dimensions. Our Mega Zorbe sheets are 1/2" thick, allowing them to fit in most any vehicle cavity, and they come in manageable 24" x 24" sheets. Mega Zorbe Pro comes in 1" and 2" thicknesses and 24" x 48" sheets, making them a better sound absorber, particular at mid frequencies, with a more situational usage. Mega Zorbe Pro is a great pick if your cavity has the clearance. Vans, RVs, and semi trucks tend to have the most space for it.

We recommend OverKill Pro most of the time given its enhanced decoupling performance and ability to compress. If you're in an extremely tight spot that cannot fit the 3/8", OverKill is a very capable decoupler as well.
