For the best combo of sound and heat reduction, we recommend using two materials - one to reduce metal vibrations and the other to reduce airborne noise. Do you recommend soundproofing the engine side or cabin side of the firewall?
You can treat either side of a car's firewall and reduce noise and heat into the cabin. No matter which side you decide to insulate, start with Damplifier Pro or Spectrum to damp the structural vibrations. Your second layer should be installed with 100% coverage and depends on which side of the firewall you treat.
On the engine side firewall, we recommend using Mega Block to reflect heat and absorb sound in the engine compartment.
