How to Make a Dishwasher Quieter

Turn off power and water supply to the unit. Remove mounting screws and carefully slide the dishwasher out from the cabinet cavity. This gives you access to the side panels and outer metal housing.

Clean surfaces with denatured alcohol if any dirt, dust or grease is present. Apply Damplifier Pro™ sound deadening mats directly to the large flat metal walls or paneling of the dishwasher using a wooden hand roller to ensure a strong bond. These mats reduce vibrational noise, which occurs when the metal housing resonates during wash cycles.

For tight or space-constrained installations, Damplifier (1mm thick) can be used instead of Damplifier Pro (2mm thick).

Next, wrap the dishwasher in Heat Wave Pro. This jute insulation absorbs airborne sound inside the dishwasher cavity to reduce overall noise. It’s designed for vehicles, so it has a moisture resistance that makes it perfect for a dishwasher in case of any condensation.

You’ll wrap the sides, the top, and the back. Avoid blocking ventilation or any mechanical components. You’ll need to cut out holes for those spots and for the plumbing and electrical as well. Secure the insulation to the unit with a strong industrial tape and use high-temp foil insulation tape to seal the edges of jute.

Carefully slide the dishwasher back into the cabinet opening. Reattach mounting screws and reconnect power and water supply. Run a test cycle to evaluate noise reduction.
