Step-by-Step: How to Soundproof Your Sink

The following steps walk through the complete process for soundproofing a metal sink.

Step 1: Remove Your Sink (Optional)

To gain additional access, if you feel comfortable doing so, remove the sink to make installation easier. If removal isn’t practical, you can apply material from underneath while installed.

Step 2: Clean the Underside of Your Sink

Wipe the underside of the sink to remove dust, grease, or debris. If necessary, clean with denatured alcohol to ensure strong adhesion.

Step 3: Measure Your Sink and Cut Your Sound Deadening Mats

Measure the bottom and sides of the sink basin to calculate the total square footage. You’ll target approximately 60% coverage with Damplifier Pro™ to achieve about 95% of the noise reduction results. Choose the size of your Sink Soundproofing Kit based on your sink’s dimensions.

Step 4: Install Sound Deadening to Your Sink

Apply the material firmly to the underside of the sink. Use the provided hand roller to ensure a strong bond and maximize performance.

Focus on the center of the basin and large flat areas where vibration is strongest.

Step 5: Reinstall Your Sink (If You Removed It)

Once installation is complete, reinstall the sink and reconnect plumbing if it was removed.
