Installation Instructions
Installation Instructions
- Calculate how much weight the backers need to support (for cabinets, consider what will be put in them).
- This is for the acoustical design load. The backers can hold several times more than the listed acoustical load.
- Attach RSIC-1 clips and snap in 25 gauge hat channel
- On the same horizontal plane and between the RSIC-1 clips, screw in the RSIC-1 Backer in locations on the wall needing additional support. This could be 1 row or it could be multiple rows depending on size and weight of the components.
- Fasten 6" Wide, 16 gauge (min.) steel track (C-Channel) to the RSIC-1 Backer using screws. This steel track will be flush with the 25 gauge hat channel.
- To fasten the steel track, screw through the face of the steel track with (4) 1/2" min. self-drilling screws per backer (example: Truss Head Screw)
- Attach 5/8” drywall to 25 gauge hat channel.
- Screw the components needing support into the steel track supported by RSIC-1 Backer.
