Use reinforced grommets to fasten it to a chain link fence or a metal stick frame or scaffolding. Always cover 100% of the fence and butt the edges together, overlapping by 2" when over a gap.

Luxury Liner Reinforced MLV is an excellent barrier with an STC rating of 27:

Choose Luxury Liner Reinforced when you need high tear and breaking strength. It has the same 1 lb per sq ft weight as standard 1 lb MLV, with a polyester scrim added. That scrim gives it much higher tensile strength (1155 psi versus 400 psi). That strength is why it hangs from grommets and holds up outdoors.

Luxury Liner Reinforced MLV comes in 4' x 25' (100 sq ft) and 4.5' x 20' (90 sq ft) rolls, at a nominal 1/8" thick.

Luxury Liner Reinforced MLV hangs two main ways, depending on the project. Both need 100% coverage, and both hang vertically from the top down with the edges butted together.

Divider walls

Punch reinforced grommets into the MLV with a grommet punch kit. Roll out the MLV so its length matches the barrier's height. Cut it with a sharp utility knife and T-square. Fasten it from the top across. Always attach it to studs, since drywall alone will not support its weight. Seal gaps with acoustic caulk.

Fences

Mechanically fasten Luxury Liner Reinforced MLV to a wood or steel fence with screws and washers, or staples. Use reinforced grommets for a chain link fence, a stick frame, or scaffolding. Cover 100% of the fence and butt the edges together, overlapping by 2" when over a gap.
