WHY SECOND SKIN?
There are many choices when it comes to automotive noise and heat control, so why chose second skin?

For starters, all Second Skin products are designed to be used in automobiles. We do not sell products that are designed to be used in another industry.   Because of this our quality control is centered on our customers; the aftermarket auto and audio enthusiast.

Do some looking around and you will quickly find that Second Skin does not sell the cheapest materials on the market. Our products are more expensive than some of our competitors because we use high quality raw goods specifically formulated for cars.   We refuse to cut corners and we refuse to settle.

Many of our internet based competitors try to pass of similar looking commercial roofing products off as vibration dampers. Though these roofing product may be less expensive they are also of a much lesser quality and often take 2 or 3 times the amount to achieve similar performance as Second Skin does.

Take for example our butyl vibration mat Damplifier. Because this product is designed for automotive applications, the butyl is formulated to have a specific gravity, viscosity and adhesion strength that excel at reducing the most common automotive frequencies associated with road noise, engine noise and exhaust noise. Roofing products can not make this claim.

Compare us to some of our higher quality competitors and you will find that not only are our prices are very competitive but our products are superior and customer service top notch.

Another reason
At Second Skin we recognize that everyone has a unique car, different goals, and a specific budget. Some people like to install products themselves, while other like to have the local shop do it. One customer might want to use a peel and stick mat while another would rather use a spray gun to dampen his ride. That is why we offer so many different types of products.
 
Many companies limit themselves to a single product or single type of product. Some only sell liquids, while others only sell vibration mats, but regardless of the company many will have you believe that their one product is capable of doing everything.  
This is why sell so many types of noise and heat dampers. There is not one product that can effectively handle all types of noise and heat in a car. If this were true, we would sell that one product and nothing else. We know that some installs call for mats, some for liquids, some for composites and others for barriers, so we sell all of them.

As with all dampers on the market, each product we sell has a point of diminishing returns. Sure, we could load up 10 layers of Damplifier Pro under our carpet, and we would reduce a good deal of noise, but it would be heavy, thick and would cost a bundle. To try to use one product to cover everything is wasteful! Once one product reaches the limits of its design, we layer on another material that picks up where the previous layer left off.

At Second Skin we will always shoot it to you straight, even if it costs us a sale. We encourage you to do your homework. Ask some questions and browse some of our competitors' sites. We are confident that an informed customer is a happy customer, and even if you decide no to use our products… You eventually will!
