I'd like to thank Ant at Second Skin Audio, this is some really great product! This is my first time using more than a few sheets of damper, and I noticed during this install where Second Skin Audio really takes the lead amongst it's competitors. The material was extremely easy to work with. Thanks Buzz Thompson for being a big help on this install.
What I'm trying to accomplish here is simply a quiet environment inside the car, and improve sound quality and response in the vehicle. Before ![]() After ![]() Rear Deck ![]() A Pillar ![]() B Pillar ![]() C Pillar/Rear ![]() Trunk Area ![]() Inside Door

I finished the trunk. I bought a trunk pack, but I was let down a little, it wasn't enough to complete my trunk.
I also put down luxury liner Pro on the floor, and I love that stuff! Big difference in sound. In Progress ![]() Finished ![]() Another Angle

Looking very nice!
Yeah a trunk pack is enough to give you something like 70%-80% coverage for most vehicles, which is enough to make a pretty big difference. But like most people, myself included, we want 100% coverage.

Yeah the laziness in me shows through from time to time.
And I think some of us are in the 125%-150% club...

I am in the 100% club too, as in 100% of my SSA is sitting in my garage. I am also in Jon's 150% club as I have spent 150% of my sound deadening budget and still have more to buy!

Does a trunk kit really reduce cabin noise perceived from the driver's seat? I don't have any subs in the trunk, just a couple of 6x9's in the deck. 95% of the time I'm in the car by myself. I couldn't care less what backseat passengers hear. ;)

ill be 100% honest the truck was the second thing i did in my car (rear deck was first but i didnt notice much of a difference) and it was the most noticeable change i actually did. I did almost the entire thing within a day so after driving i basically only herd exhaust noise from up front. Ive since done pretty much the whole car but never in a single day single project type thing so its harder to notice the difference.
I think it would really depend on the car but if your getting alot of exhaust noise then doing the trunk def helps |

I finally got around to doing the rear doors. I didn't go to crazy on them because they're just the rear doors. 1 layer of damplifier Pro on the inner and outer skin.

Stripped the interior out again.. time for more Second Skin round 2! I'm making sure the car has at least two layers of damplifier Pro top to bottom. I'll also be beefing up the doors.

wow. never thought id see that much secondskin in a corolla. i think at this point youre limited by the thin glass and firewall. the metal is almost as quiet as it could get besides spraying the undercarriage with spectrum.
