Hey guys,
Name is Michael, and I thought i would join up and do some research and ask questions regarding sound deadening my vehicle. I currently own a 2006 Nissan Titan, and have recently been doing an audio build on it. If you'd like to see it, check it out here: http://caraudio.com/forum/car-audio-...build-log.html Now, I have a few questions regarding sound deadening and I have NO idea where to begin lol. To start off, here are some calculations I did to see how much matting I need. Correct me if i am wrong please: -Front exterior sheet metal: 32" H, 47" W - 12 SQ FT x 2 -Inside interior trim panels: 28" H, 35" W - 9 SQ FT x 2 -Rear Exterior sheet metal: 37" H, 31" W - 9 SQ FT x 2 -Rear interior trim panels: 28" H, 30" W - 9 SQ FT x 2 -Back wall: 32" H, 72" W - 18 SQ FT 100 SQ FT - Doors & Rear Wall Since this is my first time experimenting with sound deadening, I thought I would start off with my back wall first since it vibrates the most :x Problem is, I can't really spend $500 on equipment lol Here is what I was thinking: SPL Tiles, Damp, luxury liner on all the doors/back wall? Doing the back wall alone will cost me $150 lol Suggestions will be appreciated! 06Titan |

Welcome to the forums. I just did my truck. It looks like you're rounding everything way up. That's good, but if you're on a budget, just buy what the budget allows and go from there. Install in a place that would see the most improvement or the area of the truck that will be torn apart etc...
FYI - My truck is a new Sierra Ext Cab. I went through about 115 sq ft of Damp Pro. That's basically 1 layer over everything including the roof. About 47 sq ft of that went to the doors. Inner and outer skin - all 4 doors. |

Yeah, that would be annoying. My stereo isn't hooked up yet so I don't know where I might have extra rattles.
Maybe just buy as much Damp or Damp Pro as you can afford. Start sticking it places until you run out...lol |

I have about 100 sq ft of dampener in my Ranger.I did the doors rear walls & under the cab. Its much better now. I still need to finish the floor & roof. I have one road noise left. I have a tear in the drivers door seal. Once I replace it my Ranger will be very quiet. You will really like your truck once you add some damplifier. Do the front doors & rear wall first.

Figured I'd add my .02 about knuconceptz. Used their RCA's and power/ground wire in my last 2 cars with no problems, but their speaker wire (namely the Karma SS) is very bulky and hard to work with - I won't be using it again. Like I said, the RCA's and power wires were great though, no complaints there.
