Default Uses for Rattle Pad

What are the best uses and applications for Rattle Pad?

Is that an effective sound absorber?

I've 4 sheets of rattle pad and I'm planning to use it behind the rear seats (1 layer of Damp Pro and another layer of Rattle Pad) and inside car's plastic panels and trim.

A comparison between the uses and effectiveness of RattlePad and overkill Pro would be nice too.

I have the same question, how is Rattlepad drastically different in usage from OK? I can see the closed cell format of OK pro making a difference, but would Rattlepad be more effective than regular Overkill?

Well rattle pad does a much better job at stopping and preventing rattles then overkill because of it's thickness and it's ability to compress, conform, and put pressure on the door and door's trim, basically creating a gasket effect and isolating the trim from the door.

It does act as a noise filter similar to overkill because it is an acoustic foam.
How does it compare to OverKill? That I am not sure of because I haven't installed my rattle pad and can't give a first hand review.

I called Ant today and asked him about the difference. He said that rattle pad will not filter as much sound as regular OverKill, but overkill does not compress as well as RattlePad so it won't stop as much of the rattles. Basically, each product does what it says it does, and there isn't any overlap. And obviously, OKpro will stop much more sound than either.

Do they no long make Rattle Pad?

My stiffened suspension seems to be making some of my interior panels thunk a bit and I have some rattles.

That would be a bummer since I was looking to use RP on many interior trim pieces, including the gas pedal (seriously). lol

Haven't estimated the area, but I have identified 7 components that need to be damped. Maybe 3sqft could do it.
