Default Motor Mat Pro installation advice

I am getting close to finished with the interior of the car. Lately I have been thinking on how I am going to install motor mat Pro (MMP). My hood does not have a factory headliner.

So basically I am going to have to cut it with scissors to my estimate an glue it up.

1) Any tips to get a decent cut? The problem is there is nothing going to hide the insulation, so a clean cut will be critical for a decent appearance.

2) Would I need foil tape to keep the MMP strong? I would rather not use it for appearance reasons.

3) My hood is not flat. The bulge area is the ideal spot to insulate. The sides might be difficult due to clearance, but would it be worth it to do the whole? Here is a pic of the hood.

Never-mind... I am not going to do the hood...it's way too loud anyways.

Very sharp knife and measure a million times. If you are doing a straight cut, use a metal straight edge and compress it as much as you can and make one single slice. When you have to cut it multiple times it really degrades the quality of the finished edge.
I just finished my MMP install and it looks awesomely clean because of the straight cuts.

I wouldn't bother. I foil taped the edges of my original MM and all it did was prevent the foam from sucking up moisture (because it was open cell foam). With my new MMP I didn't bother, nor will I.

Just my two cents.

I just purchased a C5 and I'd appreciate your comments on your installation - what materials you used and the results.
Thanks.
